Small Technology Foundation

We want a web where everyone owns their own home at their own address.

Do you run a Virtual Private Server (VPS) host or domain name registrar?

Do you want to support our social mission while being part of an emerging interoperable network?

If so, please contact us.

VPS hosts

We feel that VPS hosts have an important role to play in democratising the web and we want to nurture long-term relationships with those that share our social values of building technology that respects human rights.

Domain registrars

We want to reduce the time and effort it takes to register a domain name and set up a web site. Ideally, we would like to work with domain registrars who are also VPS hosts to provide a unified interface for signing up for a domain name and setting up a VPS server in one step.

We want to start this work with Site.js and have an interoperable system ready for when Tincan is available.

Let’s nurture the Small Web together

Ultimately, our goal is to foster a network of partner domain registrars and VPS hosts that we can randomly assign Tincan accounts to once Tincan is ready.

As Tincan becomes more popular, Small Technology Foundation will stay small and an interoperable ecosystem of domain registrars and web hosts will emerge around us. In turn, we will use our percentage of the hosting and domain registration fees to continue developing Site.js and Tincan.
